One of the things that we've enjoyed when visiting France in the past is the national obsession with boules, or pétanque. This gentle but highly competitive sport is played in every village up and down the country and makes for a pleasant pre or post dinner activity. We don't really understand the rules, but it is quite a laid back affair so we kind of make it up as we go!
Over the summer we decided to make our very own pétanque court for our guests to enjoy so we look forward to a bit of competition next year :)
